Social Media Advertising Promotion

Your objective is to create social media ads to promote a program, a project, or a social issue.
You client would like the following marketing tactics:

Social media image sizes are ever-changing.

  1. One (1) Carousel Ad consisting of 5 images.
  2. Three (3) Stories featuring three separate subjects (can be lineal or sequential) less than 20 seconds.
  3. Three (3) <= 60 second Video testimonials from current majors

The target media outlets are:

  1. Instagram
  2. Facebook
  3. Linkedin
  4. Twitter
  5. Pinterest

About Image engagement and Video Length:

If you’re advertising on Facebook Stories, a photo can be viewed for six seconds, while a video can play for up to 15 seconds.
On the other hand, Instagram Stories ads can be up to 120 seconds long, whether you’re using photos or videos.
On both platforms, Stories ads display in full-screen format, allowing your product to be in full focus
as long as you have your customer’s attention. 

You’ve got to make sure any images you use don’t defy copyright laws. If you don’t have original imagery,
you’ve got to find high-quality stock photos. That is why it’s best if you can use your own photography, as you then own the copyright.
But as designers we don’t always have the luxury of time, nor specialty in doing our own photography.


DELIVERABLES:

MASTER FOLDER:  The master folder contains specific folders for you to drop your final files by media outlet and for your portfolio printouts. This folder can be submitted by airdrop. The master folder contains the following items:

• Final digital image files (PNG) in the correct dimensions for each media outlet organized in the designated folder.
• Final digital image files (MP3) in the correct dimensions for each media outlet organized in the designated folder.
• Mock-ups of the digital ads on the supplied template for your portfolio printouts

Below are some requirements by media that I will highlight for this project. I have included links below this for you to read more in-depth information about different aspects and types of social media with specification and recommendations. Remember this field is rapidly changing and so are specification, sizes, file-types, etc. I will continue to add information here, so please check this page for more information as the project progresses.

I. INSTAGRAM

• Maximum video length:
• IG story: 15 seconds
• Grid video: 60 seconds
• IGTV: 10 minutes*
• Optimal video length:
• IG story: 1 – 7 slides
• Grid video: 60 seconds or less
• IGTV: 2 to 5 minutes

II. FACEBOOK

• Maximum video length: 240 minutes
• Optimal video length: 15 seconds to 3+ minutes

III. LINKEDIN

• Maximum video length:
• Native video: 10 minutes
• Video ads: 30 minutes
• Optimal video length: 30 seconds or less

IV. TWITTER

• Max Twitter video length: 140 seconds
• Optimal video length: 43 – 45 seconds
Note:  A recent study found that videos that ran between 43 – 45 seconds were more likely to be featured by Twitter and had the highest engagement rates in-feed.

V. PINTEREST

• Maximum video length: 15 seconds
• Optimal video length: 6 – 15 seconds
